So often, we know the answers in our heads, but we can’t seem to stop our hearts doing something we know is so illogical; so highly unlikely to ever bring us what we want.
This is probably the most frustrating part of change: knowing why, knowing your patterns and what not to do, and yet still feeling your heart pull to do them.
It takes time. And it takes a lot of compassion and forgiveness to navigate the gap between knowledge and embodiment; between logic and love.
Be patient with yourself – adding shame and self-deprecation to your journey won’t speed it up. Practice being with where you are. Practice awareness. Practice loving redirection. Life is a training exercise. Look for where your heart feels happiest, and keep redirecting yourself to that
